TRAVEL: Bohol

My consecutive posts about Bohol has been too long, so I'll make this entry a bit shorter. Been struggling on catching up on my entries since there's still a whole lot of travelling and eating posts coming up.

For first time tourist like me, I didn't let this trip pass without visiting the Chocolate Hills, and yes, they look so much better in person even though the viewing deck was destroyed by the recent earthquake which was experienced in Bohol:

We were able to take a few pictures of the man-made forest because it was already drizzling when we went there, nevertheless, it was still beautiful:

Aaaaaaaaand how can we forget to check-out the tarsiers? :)

Have I convinced you enough to travel to Bohol yet? :)

TRAVEL and EAT: Bohol Bee Farm

It is not technically a bee farm but it's one of the places you want to go and visit when in Bohol. The place has so much to offer from food, hotel, swimming among others. The place gives you a "homey" vibe and there's just so much more to see in every corner:

Such an adorable farm! Mind you, almost all the food ingredients that they put into their food are from the farm, check out their edible flower salad!

Yes, they're flowers! Organic and freshly picked! :) Since we can't get enough of their food, we ordered more!

As if we're not full, we couldn't miss their unique menu of ice cream. Yes, we tried the Spicy Ginger Ice Cream as well as their Pandan Ice Cream:

Since we still have a few hours left, we had some time to walk around the farm and chill in their "beach" area:

There you have it folks, a day at the beautiful Bohol Bee Farm :)

TRAVEL: Panglao Island's Southpalms Beach Resort

So since I wasn't able to go out of town during my birthday and the entire summer, the parentals wanted to give me a small treat and booked us at Southpalms Beach Resort in Bohol. It's been years of wanderlusting over Bohol and finally, one of my dreams came true! (ang babaw! hahaha!)

I've been lusting to go to Bohol for the longest time so I guess my Mum made sure that I get the best spot in Panglao. These sights greeted us the moment we arrived at our resort:

I fell in love right away with the place! I am quite overwhelmed too that the weather cooperated given that it has been raining in Manila days before we left, it's such a treat that it was really scorching hot when we got there, I just love the colourful vibe coupled with the sun, beach, white sand and the infinity pool! :D

We enjoyed the view of the resort at night time too... see, see, its still beautiful even without so much lights!

Aaaaaand more pictures of the place --- the spa, the other pool and the beach horizon:

Lovely, eh?

The hotel staff are really nice, although the front desk people need a little bit more of training in terms of handling their guests. Some are not the knowledgable enough to answer queries plus, they require extra payment for early check-in even if you want to check in around 12nn (I probably am expecting a 5-star hotel worth of service but for their price, I think they really should), apart from that, the overall experience was great! We enjoyed the infinity pool until 9pm almost our entire stay.

Our 2nd day in Bohol was spent island hopping and yes, apart from Panglao, there are still different small islands around Bohol that you must see:

This is the view from Balicasag Island, its technically a diver's spot and oh, you can go snorkeling too! Since I don't dive and I easily get bored with snorkeling after 30 minutes, we left the island and transferred to the Virgin Island around 2pm.

I got soooooo excited eating fresh Uni Sashimi for only 40 pesos! Loooooove! Plus, we tried few new kinds of sea food. Just a little trivia, since we arrived at the Virgin Island quite early (around past 2pm) its still high tide meaning the island is still hidden. According to the locals, you can see the entire stretch of the island during low tide, hence, its called Virgin Island. Awesome.

I wish we could stay longer in the island to wait for the low tide but the waves going back to the resort are just too high for us to handle, the ride back was a bit scary but we managed to go back to Southpalms alive and kicking! haha!

More Bohol entries coming up! Next destination.... Bohol Bee Farm! :)

TRAVEL: Boracay Island

Back in the days, Boracay used to be ala Survivor type of island. Quiet, secluded, serene, white sand, a perfect spot to watch the perfect sunset.

Fast forward to today, after all the developments and an effort to make it the best tourist spot in the country, Boracay became the best beach party place in the Philippines and I must admit, I've been going back to the island every year for almost I think 8 years already. Why???? Take a look!

So yeah, it was scorching hot when we were in the island, but with that kind of view, how can you say no? :)

Apart from the beautiful white sand, you can also enjoy a lot of Filipino street food! Yup! Isaw, barbeque, and the famous Chori (Chorizo) Burger.

And of course, we had some Jonah' shake too! :)

Summer isn't over yet, so why don't you book the next flight to Boracay now? :)
