TRAVEL and EAT: Vietnam

It was a short 3 days, 2 nights trip to Ho Chi Minh City and we loved every bit of it. After our trip to Cambodia, we just wanted to have a quick trip and explore the Cu Chi Tunnel. We super loved Bizu Hotel on District 7. After check-in we walked and explored the place around the area:

After a few hours of rest, we went to Ben Thanh Market to experience the night shopping as well as try the authentic Pho noodles and maaaaaaan, best Pho everrrrr!!!

The next day we availed the tour to Cu Chi Tunnel, I must admit I tried but chickened out on the first exit of the tunnel but it was quite an experience to be there and learn about the WWII history:

The tour ended around 4pm and we had a few hours to drop by the grocery to buy some weird Vietnam junk food and look at our loot!

We were so swamped and hungry after all the walking and exploring and accidentally spotted this restaurant near the war museum and wow, they have the best burrata pizza!!!!!

I'll probably go back to Vietnam and explore some more since 3 days, 2 nights are not enough to explore the country. Perhaps, I'll plan another trip, Hanoi maybe? :)

TRAVEL and EAT: Cambodia

After months of hiatus on travelling, finally, off to Cambodia we go! :) This trip was booked under Cebu Pacific's piso fare. We practically spent Php 4,000 ($100) for a trip MNL-SIEM REAP - HO CHI MINH -MNL so it was really a good deal!

We booked a 2-day tour from Narin, our tour guide. Probably one of the best tour guides in Cambodia since he can speak english very well. We booked at the Gloria Angkor Hotel which is a almost 15 minutes away from the center. It was relatively cheap for Php 1,200 per night for 2 with breakfast. Such a treat!

The hotel offers free pick-up from the airport to the hotel and tadaaaaaaaa!

It was a totally different experience of hotel airport pick-up since we're kinda used to a van or car service. This one is an authentic Cambodian "tuktuk" type, yes, we went local first thing in Cambodia! We we welcomed by these treats as soon as we arrived at our hotel:

We were up early the next day for our tour, manna it was tiring walking around from one temple to another but we were amazed by all the temples that we visited:

Such an awesome view! The intricate details of each temple is amazing... makes me wonder how they were able to do it. Angkor Wat is equally beautiful as Banteay Srei. I actually loved it more than Angkor Wat, probably because the temple was packed at that time while we enjoyed the peace and quiet exploring Banteay Srei. After a loong tiring day exploring temples, we had enough time to have a quick dip at the hotel pool area before dinner.

Of course, we'll never leave Cambodia without trying out their authentic yummy hot pot food as well as exploring the Angkor Night Market for some shopping:

There you have it folks, our short but sweet trip to Cambodia. And yes, I have to say you have to make it a part of your bucket list! :)
