EAT: Skydeck at the Bayleaf

Manila is a scary place for me, probably because of the different news here and there about hold-uppers, killings and what not. Its always a treat for me every time I get around the area with my friends around of course! haha! I can never ever explore Manila alone because:

1. I'm not familiar with the roads and getting lost around the area is stressful for me.
2. The commute around Manila is quite a challenge.
3. Its scary. :P

I've always wanted to explore the place (so next time, please come with me?). One of the few places that I get to visit after the day tour in Corregidor was the restaurant I've lusting to go to for quite sometime now --- The Sky Deck View Bar at the Bayleaf Hotel. It is situated across the Manila Museum along Intramuros. Skydeck is at the top most of the hotel, overviewing the beautiful Manila skyline (best to go during sunset, the view is really breathtaking). I'll let the pictures describe Skydeck and the beautiful view of Manila sunset. :)

Apart from the nice view they have a good set of menu too!

Care to take your date here next? I'm sure he/she would enjoy the awesome view and the food too! :D

TRAVEL: Corregidor Island

A day packed with history, food and a lot of sun. We were able to chance upon a discounted voucher trip to the Corregidor Island. For the price of Php 1,200 we're off to explore the island with free lunch.

First stop was at Sun Cruises docking area (near CCP), an hour ride to get to the island. Each passenger is assigned to a bus number when they get to the island.

We were amazed as to how they were able to preserve the ruins, batteries, coastal guns and mortars.

The highlight of the trip is the Malinta Tunnel adventure. Malinta Tunnel is a bomb-proof storage and today, its converted to an audio-visual place where in the story of the island was related during World War II , the evacuation of Manuel L. Quezon and General McArthur.

The Corregidor Tour is a one of a kind experience. Now, why don't you surprise your love with an adventurous, historical date weekend? :)

Oh, there's a hotel near the entrance of the island if you want to stay overnight and do some ghost hunting at the hospital after dinner… so yes, its a different kind of adventure for you and your barkada too! :D

TRAVEL: Cape Bojeador/Paoay Sand Dunes - The Ilocos Chronicles

So up we go the the 70-meter hill high Cape Bojeador or what they call the Burgos Lighthouse. The steps are enough for a good exercise for the day.

Beautiful view from the top, eh? :)

And for the last stop of our Ilocos adventure (and my favourite one), Sand Bashing it is at Paoay Sand Dunes! I've experienced the sand bashing adventure in the Middle East (one great experience too!) but this one is a totally different since the 4x4 is open air and I get to stand at the back the entire ride! Fun!

I loved that the 4x4 that we used is the purple one, my favourite colour! hah! :P The coolest part of the adventure? We get to sand board!!! yihaaaaa! Lookie! Lookie!

Oh yeah, I didn't stop trying until I was able to complete the entire slide which took me about three tries. hahaha! It's actually easier than surfing.

After which, we took pictures of the beach at the edge of those sand.

Beautiful, beautiful Ilocos! Now go pack your stuff and head on a 3-day trip up north, its worth it! :)
