TRAVEL: Heritage Village/Vigan Longganisa/Paoay Church/Cafe Leona/Pottery Making - The Ilocos chronicles continues… :)

You can't visit Ilocos without trying the famous Vigan longganisa and their Bagnet. See, see how beautiful these yummy treats are?

The Vigan longganisa is garlic-y yummy compared to other longganisa produced in Pampanga and the other parts of the country. Bagnet on the other hand is Ilocos' delicacy that you must try, its a whole new world for your taste buds, a different sensation from your usual crispy pata and chicharon!

After drooling over longganisa and bagnet, we tried to shed some fats by walking along the Heritage Village --- Calle Crisologo. Its part of Vigan where in you can see old houses and probably what is it like during the Spanish era in the Philippines. Beautiful antique furnitures for sale, coffee shops and restaurants, pasalubong shops among others. Oh, by the way, you can either ride a Calesa or walk along the strip of Calle Crisologo but its always an experience to walk around and explore each spot of the strip.

After taking pictures for hours, we got hungry again, so off we go to Cafe Leona to try out some Ilocano pizzas --- Bagnet Pizza, Vigan Longganisa Pizza and of course, the Pinakbet Pizza.

                                                                   Bagnet Longganisa

                                                                      Pinakbet Longganisa

                                                             Vigan Longganisa pizza.
I personally loved the Vigan Longganisa best.

Cafe Leona is one of the oldest restaurants along Calle Crisologo that serves authentic Ilocano food. So, on your visit to Vigan, I would strongly suggest that you give them a try.

After exploring the Heritage Village, our next destination is the Paoay Church, built way back 1710. This church is recognised by the UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the best examples of Baroque churches in the Philippines. It's a beautiful, beautiful church up north that you must really see!

Its always a treat for me every time I visit Paoay church. I will never stop admiring its beauty every time I pay a visit.

Our next stop was at the Ruby Pottery, here you can watch and even make your own pots ala Demi Moore! :) I'm amazed by how fast they do it and shape each pots/vase to its own form.

They sell cheap pots as well over here. Perfect place to buy this trinkets for your house and yeah, learn something new for the day --- pottery! :)
